EVMS Haiti HOPES partners health professions students with attending physicians and residents to go to Hinche, Haiti during the winter and spring breaks to provide basic healthcare clinics and public health projects. The purposes of these trips is to establish continuity of care and to orphans at Maison Fortuné, as well as to locals in and around the city of Hinche, thus fostering ongoing relationships with the communities around Hinche and EVMS. The trip takes 1st and 2nd year medical students, MPH students, and art therapy students.
We will have 2 interest meetings to discuss who we are and how we plan on approaching the year. Our first meeting will be on Thursday September 3rd from 5-6pm in Lester 135. Our second meeting will be in the same place, same time on Tuesday September 8th. If you plan on applying to go to Haiti, you MUST attend 1 of the interest meetings.
