Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA)
Our mission is to bring together pre-professional students and others interested in the health issues that affect Asians Pacific Americans (APA) so that we may have a strong, collective, and public voice promoting the health and well-being of the Asian Pacific American community. APAMSA serves as an important forum for APA medical students to meet, exchange information, and develop personally and professionally. APAMSA is the only national organization representing Asian Pacific American Medical students and collectively we serve as the voice of the APA medical student and community.
Goals on campus:
•To promote the dissemination of information relative to Asian Pacific American issues in the field of medical education;
•To explore and possibly resolve the unique challenges, obstacles, and responsibilities specific to Asian Pacific American medical students and physicians;
•To provide opportunities for medical students and all EVMS students to give back to their community through service.
•To represent Asian Pacific Americans as a group within the health care community at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
•To be a resource for information on matters related to Asian Pacific Americans.
•To provide a forum for discussion of issues concerning Asian Pacific Americans in health care.
•To provide a link between students and faculty of Asian Pacific American background.
