Assn of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) is a committee composed of one student rep from each MD class, which collaborates with other medical institutions in developing projects and sharing ideas; showcases EVMS student activities at national conferences; provides resources about medical education, research, residency matching, health insurance, and financial management to students at EVMS; and organizes Community Care Day.
The American Medical Assn (AMA) teaches leadership and activism by providing students with a platform to propose ideas for legislative change (e.g. to improve medical education or advance healthcare), to seek support for these ideas at national conferences, and to advocate these ideas to senators and representatives in Washington DC.
American Medical Student Assn (AMSA) is a student-governed, national organization committed to representing the concerns of medical students throughout all levels of training, with an emphasis on improving global health equity, health care access, diversity, and professional integrity while fostering leadership in medicine through support of local initiatives and participation in national conferences.
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) aims to improve health care delivery by teaching skills in leadership, quality improvement, and patient safety; encouraging students to pursue local projects in healthcare improvement; and hosting national conferences on these subjects.
