Coming Soon!
Park Place Medical Center LAMP: Saturday, April 20th, from 9a-noon, sign-up
We need 3 or 4 volunteers to help with the April vision screening at Park Place Medical Center. This is a great opportunity to get accustomed to the equipment we use at vision screenings.  Please let us know the times you're available, and please be sure your dues have been paid.

The Lions Club is the world's largest service organization. The EVMS Chapter of The Lions Clubs in District 24D serves the community by participating in Lions Assisted Medical Projects (LAMPs) in the Hampton Roads area. LAMPs typically involve vision, hearing, and diabetes screenings. Volunteers help with the screenings and fit patients for free eyeglasses, which come from the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center in Chesapeake, VA. We are also currently working on a vision clinic at EVMS's student run HOPES clinic.

In July 2011 and 2012 the club also sent volunteers to Remote Area Medical (RAM) which is a 3-day health screening that takes place in Wise, VA. This clinic brings free medical care to thousands of patients in Appalachia. It was a valuable experience and we are looking forward to sending more volunteers in July 2015. For more information about RAM, check out their website (linked to on the right).
